Despite the slicker, trendier eateries nearby, Sofia has proven itself a contender on the downtown dining scene with fresh, regional Italian and attentive service. The décor is muted and refined, attracting a crowd that ranges from business diners to locals out on the town. The menu features a number of daily homemade pastas as well as meats and seafood. Starters include grilled polenta with Gorgonzola sauce and Parmesan-crusted prawns. Pastas include prawns Diablo, penne primavera and a daily gnocchi and risotto special, and meats include pan-seared pork cutlets, New York steak and chicken saltimbocca.
