Located in historic Old Sacramento, Rio City Café is a good place to unwind after a day of sightseeing. In keeping with the historic feel of the area, the building is designed to resemble a nineteenth-century steamship warehouse, and the outdoor deck offers a welcome respite from the hordes of tourists and souvenir shops. The cuisine is creative Californian, with an emphasis on seasonal, local ingredients. Starters include calamari and lemon chips with orange chipotle aïoli and Asian beef skewers, while mains include ravioli with pesto Champagne sauce and pine nuts, and mussels with andouille.
