Dim sum served off the ubiquitous carts is worth the wait at this Hong Kong-style banquet hall. Order from the menu for specialties like shark fin soup. Seafood items shine, particularly shrimp har gow with leeks, and turnip cakes and taro root cake are fine examples of their kind. More unusual dim sum include ground beef balls with cilantro, shrimp-stuffed mushrooms and sweet rice balls with sausage. At dinner, formal wedding and celebration banquets are the order of the day, with a procession of dishes like Peking duck, roast pig served with buns like the duck, whole crab and lobster with ginger and honey-walnut shrimp. Set menus for groups range from reasonably priced multi-course dinners to lavish banquets with ceremonial dishes. Chiu chow dishes, influenced by Vietnamese cuisine, are also available. Weekdays are less crowded, but the freshest and most rapid turnover of dim sum is found on crowded weekends.
