Village Green Restaurant Description:
Village Green is housed in a Tudor-style building that evokes European charm. At dusk, the two small dining rooms are aglow with tiny tabletop candles. The creative American fare is informed with global accents from France, Italy, Asia and the Middle East; the menu is offered à la carte or as four-, five- or seven-course tasting menus. Dishes are flush with fresh ingredients balancing flavor, texture, temperature and seasonality while incorporating vivid presentations. The serving tempo keeps a good pace although there may be lapses. One can be forgiving when served dishes such as five spices Muscovy duck breast over cranberry wild rice, grilled asparagus and orange gastrique or jumbo shrimp tempura with roasted jícama and English cucumbers with sesame oil and ginger vinaigrette.
