3rd St. Diner Description:
Talk about a mixed message: a girl in a long prom dress, a family in casual clothes and waitstaff in vinyl skirt or pants topped by a pink cowboy hat. It's Fifties Funk where you'll find a mishmash of favorites, including American, Italian and Greek (such as an okay gyro sandwich). If you can't make up your mind, just order breakfast any time with eggs and Smithfield ham, pancakes and biscuits with sausage gravy. The décor reminds us of days gone by and the food, of times gone by, when drugstores served the same kind of homey foods. There is a bar and a very abbreviated wine list, but drinking a root beer float seems more fitting. Expect everything from salmon steak and veggie burgers to macaroni and cheese and grilled donut with ice cream.
