Sezmu Restaurant Description:
Sezmu, which shares its name with an ancient Egyptian deity associated with wine, is a cozy establishment with brick and caramel-colored walls and a bar where diners can order from the full menu. To experience the variety of chef Larry Dunning's New American cuisine, opt for the four-course chef's tasting menu. The presentations of the dishes---especially the starters---are nice and showcase the freshness of the ingredients, as in the flower of torn butter lettuce accompanying the fava bean fritters, and the asparagus "fettuccine" with the seared scallops and morels. Main dishes might range from Berkshire pork shoulder with romano beans and apricot-celery salad to Alaskan halibut with artichokes, red orach spinach, corona and fava beans and tapenade. The black forest torte with chocolate ganache, bing cherries and almond foam makes for a decadent conclusion. A lot of effort has clearly been put into the wine program, with a regular wine list as well as a reserve list. There are also a slew of cocktails along with a few craft beers on tap and two dozen available by the bottle. Sunday suppers feature a weekly changing three-course menu for $25.
