Aimee's Description:
After opening her unpretentious bistro years ago, Aimee Mizrahi has become more ambitious. The storefront has been dressed up just enough to overcome its suburban mini-mall location, and the minor complaint of congestion only reinforces the concept of an authentic bistro. The menu now boasts sparkling dishes like macadamia-crusted halibut in a citrus beurre blanc; slow-roasted duck in orange-Cointreau sauce; and pancetta-wrapped pork tenderloin with chestnut-creamed Swiss chard and apple chutney. The kitchen does a fine job with bistro standards like escargots, beef bourguignon and coq au vin. Desserts are particularly good, with presentations approaching the baroque. The wine list, split between France and California, is respectable but hardly outstanding. Service is very good, and Madame Aimee's warm welcome and fond adieu are great bookends to every meal.
