Japanese sushi and an American blues motif have certainly proven a potent attraction for Sushi Blues Café, which has added its own packed-house sizzle to the Glenwood South scene. The neon lights and classic jazz may lure diners in, but it's the first-rate Japanese food that keeps them coming back: udon noodle soups, shrimp or pork dumplings, delicately-battered tempuras, and fresh sushi and sashimi combination plates, whimsically named after jazz era greats: "Louis and Ella's Unforgettable Duet" or "Ellington's Jam Session" give you an idea of what we're talking about. Who would have thought that Japanese food and blues would make a magic combination? But it does.
