Fleming's Prime Steakhouse Description:
We like the outsized experience of dining at Fleming's, from the bold Cabernet olive tapenade delivered as an opener to the silky signature martini. R.E.M. and Mellencamp tunes in the background take the edge off the clubby atmosphere, and service is professional without being intimidating. The wine list features numerous hard-to-find American boutique wines as well as renowned national and international labels, with 100 wines by the glass, and an 80-label reserve list. The USDA Prime hand-cut beef includes rib-eyes, filets and New York strips, all seared by intensely high-heat cooking, for the signature steakhouse outer crust. Served as an appetizer, the lobster tempura is nearly a meal in itself: six lobster tails accompanied by jalapeño and ginger dipping sauces. We find a heavy hand at work on the peppermill when it comes to the sautéed mushrooms, but the lightly seasoned bone-in rib-eye is a masterful exercise in simplicity.
