This Imperial Place hot-spot is all drama and mood. There are white lights illuminating plants, exposed beams and tables hiding sexily within alcoves, and dramatic chandeliers adding a sense of elegance. The drama, though, is also comforting, and it's a combination that extends to the cooking. The menu is upscale and sophisticated---the poulet aux poires and Grand Marnier duck are signature dishes, for example---and a bistro menu with smaller portions and prices (served Sunday-Thursday) is a welcome touch. While French and American influences are evident on the menu, specials often explore Asian cuisine, techniques and ingredients.
