I worked for Janet and agree with some reviews I have read. I agree that she is off the wall and likes to argue with her staff. Her husband Tim is a trooper..kudos to him for putting up with her. The food there is good but not great. I enjoyed working in the kitchen and do miss my co-workers but I had made the choice to leave and not return. When I gave Janet my notice I gave her lots of time to replace me but she became more of a b*%#h than I could handle. for those people that like the gossip and enjoy the bs go there. until you work for someone like this your opinion shouldnt matter! another thing that bothered me,,the dish washer Jackie makes 12 an hour same as the top cook how fair is that? Mase...you should Thank me!!! I got you and Jackie that 2 dollar raise I knew that I would. I told a fib to get what I wanted...lol If whoever works for Janet and quits and get your cheque becareful..I went to the bank where the cheque is drawn from and was told that there was no payment arrangement for my pay!!! good one Janet. Maybe the labor board will get a call!!!!

I can't believe I am reading negetive comments about the A&A Burger Bar! Don't know how many times we have been there whether for lunch or dinner, but results have always been the same ---- great service, great food, great value and great atmosphere. We have never heard the manager be anything but polite and professional. A&A gets tens all way around from us!

Me and my family just stopped and ate at A&A's and we were more than satisfied i feel that the price was right for the quality food that was served. we stopped for breakfast and had eggs with yolks so dark and rich that we thought that she raised them her self. we asked about them and she said she special orders them to be that certain way. we all ordered are bacon cooked a different way and it was all perfect. The sausage was what seemed to be home made with a casing that cracked and popped as you bit into it which is a proper sausage. i asked about that and she told us about the custom meat supplier she gets her meats from that make it that way. Highly priced? Hardly. Rude owner? Not at all. Overall i will be eating there often and was pleased with everything!

Had a terrible experience. Food was good although there was a hair in my fries and a SHARD OF GLASS in my coleslaw. When the problem was brought to the Attention of the owner she was was willing to do nothing for us and said that everyone makes mistakes. She also blamed the hair at the bottom of my fries for being one of my own. I wouldn't reccoment going there unless you want to leave angry!

I am really enjoying the banter between the "obvious" owner of the A & A and the "guests" who don't really seem like they have had a pleasant experience at all. However, kudos to you "owner" for your art of "shameless self promotion", although for you - you are missing out on the "art" part and are actually just "shameless". thanks for the laugh and BTW, I am a bona fide, serious restauranteur who was tipped to check out this site. I had the pleasure of working for Janet at A+A but had to recently leave due to a new job opportunity. I was very sad to go, A+A's staff has a way of making you feel like family. I think the quality of food and the standards Janet sets for her staff show hows much she cares about the establishment and her customers. The food is to die for! The best fries in town and the shakes too! As for not getting fries with a burger (which is not $12 it is $8) If you can finish the triple bypass burger and have room for fries I would truly be impressed and if that be the case a basket of fries is only $1.75. In life you can't please everyone and I don't think that the few unhappy customers who wrote on this site correctly reflect A+A or all the happy satisfied customers who come in quite often. You don't get regulars by being rude and overpriced. A+A is a 10/10 in my books.

The food is delicious, and though it is priced a bit high, you always leave full and satisfied.
However, I won't be returning because I have to agree with the majority of posters on here: the owner is obnoxious and overbearing. The last time I was in there I heard her ask a table when they were going to leave because she wanted to use the table they were at...even though there were plenty of other empty tables around. Apparently they were taking up what was designated a "table for 6" and even though a table that could seat 8 was available, she couldn't put her new party of 6 there. They HAD to be seated at a table for 6.
People defend her actions because she's stressed? It seems this woman brings a lot of stress onto herself. The time I was there before, she spent her time micromanaging her staff. Yes, it may be her business, but she needs to back off a little bit. Also, when I go out to eat, I want to eat with the people I'm with. That doesn't mean I want this intrusive woman yakking my face off the entire time. Some might defend her as friendly, but in my opinion she needs to take a lesson in the boundaries between owner and customer.
Again, it's a shame, because the decor is great, and the food fantastic

I used to work there. Boss lady Janet likes to yell a lot. Her husband Tim is very nice. The "fresh fish" is not fresh, it's frozen. The Chili and Coney Island Sauce are made with tons of Ketchup. Ceasar dressing is made with Mayonnaise. The tips for the waitress' gets paid out once a month, not nightly and if you quit or you are let go before the tips are paid out you are not paid out your tips. Food is very overpriced. Fries are hand cut and left in big buckets of water until needed. eww gross. Some vegetables like carrots are washed in bleach when they start to get the slimy feel to them. Double eww. Janet is stressed most of the time, but really if your that stressed maybe it's time to quit the restaurant biz??
I will never eat there, nor will I recommend the place. I make better burgers and I have most of their recipes anyway LOL

I have been to A&A burger a few times since I do enjoy a good burger like everyone else. I gave the place a few chances to redeem itself however this never happened. Overall there is too much hype for this place In my opinion. The food is very over priced for what you get; you don't even get fries with your burger and for the price you pay for a single burger you should at least get fries. The food is nothing special, fatburger tastes better to me and you can actually get your full without breaking the bank! Some people stand up for this place on this board and it's probably the same person or maybe even the owner trying to generate there own hype. Everyone I talk to that has eaten here says its way over priced for what you get plus the owner seems very rude to not only her employees but also to customers since I have seen it for my own eyes. Very poor service can be expected from this place and the owner needs a reality check on how to provide customer service and a good work environment for her employees, she might be busy but isn't everybody? There's no excuse for yelling at employees and being rude to customers. Save your money and your hunger by going anywhere else, it's not that great as they say. I won't be going back now since Fat Burger is in town.

well i think that you were a little misguided, the crazy lady you speak of is actually one very busy lady and doesn't need to be bothered with people's seating arrangements, i worked at A and A and although i didn't exactly leave on good terms i will still add my two sence, the atmsposhere was fun food i still crave it even though ive moved out of town lol i still would love to go back simply for a shroom and cheeze :P value well having worked there for a year her food IS priced accordingly service.....well i dont think i can comment on that one being as i was a server LOL and fat burger SUCK we have one where i live and it DOES NOT compair!!! ew yuk!! Went here for lunch with my family, 3 adults + 2 kids so five total. When they tried to shove us in a 4 person booth we asked to sit at a larger dinning area as we don't like to "rub" elbows. Immediately, the young server's demeanor changed, she got really nervous and had to ask the owner/crazy bat lady. Well according to crazy,it's a booth for 6 adults, children don't count.Also, she serves 60,000 customers a year. (yeah right and who cares?) The restaurant was DEAD. Well she proceeds to harangue us as we are seated, telling us she will not be "dismissed" when we say thank you, but we'd like to drop it and get our menus, we're here to eat, not be lectured. Finally, when she had to audacity to grab my child's Car seat to place on a high chair w/ my child in it, I'd had ENOUGH. Anyone w/ any common sense knows not to touch another persons child w/out permission, whether they are in a car seat or not. So we left. What a horrible experience, we won't be back. We have eaten here before, the food isn't spectacular and is wayyyy overpriced (since when does a $12 burger NOT come with fries?!)Hmmm lets add ketchup to chilli and overcharge for that nastiness. Yuck. We went to Fatburger where we could sit where we wanted, service was awesome, food was great A+++. My recommendation for AA is a)get rid of crazy lady b) include fries w/ your(overpriced) burger c) Understand that even though they are children, they take up space d) don't touch other peoples children e) relax a little or take out the burger bar. The unique batter of A&A's fish is what brings us back to this restaurant time after time: crispy and light with flecks of spices that bringing about incredible flavour. The fries are handcut (I think), not too thick or thin and also of perfect crispness. Yum! Our other favourites include the soups, masala burger and shroom cheese burger. Mmmmmmmm! Also have to rate the waitresses high for attitude, efficiency and politeness in comparison to other local eateries. We also appreciate how spotless A&A always appears.

I don't expect to eat for free, I easily spend 30K or more per year strictly on fine dining. I go to LOTS of restaraunts and BELIEVE ME I ask for EXTRA EVERYTHING and EVERYWHERE ELSE I don't have to pay a PENNY for the EXTRA ANYTHING I ORDER. I just went to Tony Roma's tonight and got fish and chips and asked for extra and received a BOWL of them and FOUR TUBS of tartar sauce, none of which I was charged extra for. Oh trust me, I tip extremely well and it shows in the tips, but more importantly business that do me this little favor will undoubtedly be receiving a portion of that 30K that I spend and it will most definitely NOT be A and A Burger Bar. Moral of the story = don't be so money grubbing to charge for miniscule items.

Reading the last review i had to write this...to whoever wrote the last comment on the fish & chip should think twice before complaining about paying for extra lemons...come on...you are saying the fish & chip was very tasty...it did came with a piece of lemon...usely this is what i get when i order fish & chip anywhere else...and if i go out to eat i don't expect to eat for free..."condiment or not" extra is still extra...obviously you do not own a bussiness...i myself buy lemon for home all the time and they are expensive...so please let me know which super store you buy yours so cheap...i sure hasn't pay so little lately...my point is: for fresh tasty fish & chip i do recommand the A&A Burger Bar...as i eat there at least once a week on my way back from work and ever had so many great meals in my life...the place is clean,great staff, music is from the oldies station and i like their new addition to a candy store...so if you rather eat crap frozen food go ahead...but nowhere did i had such a good fish & chip for only 10 dollars and i should add that i was told the fish & chip was gluten free hand battered...so i am and will continu to eat there and encourage everyone to try it...never had a bad meal yet...

I ordered the fish and chips which were very tasty, it came with a slice of lemon (imagine a lemon being cut into sixteen pieces and you receive ONE piece). I asked an extra slice as it clearly was not enough and even though I am charged ten plus dollars for my meal, I'm charged an additional dollar for my extra TWO slices (1/16 size each) of lemon. Oh don't worry, I will NEVER be back. From now on it's some other burger place for me, when I crave fish and chips, it will be Captain Highliner and I'll go to Superstore and get my OWN ENTIRE LEMON for TWENTY FIVE CENTS or better yet, I'll go across the street to JOEY'S ONLY where the tartar sauce and lemons are FREE because they are considered CONDIMENTS.

I visited A&A with recommendations from friends on the quality of the burgers. Although my burger was incredible, that was only one of the positive aspects of my experience. The service I received was GENUINE. I never felt like I was troubling my waitress (as I find is the case at some restaurants). In fact, I felt sincerely welcome throughout the duration of my visit.

During a brief conversation with the owner, I was impressed with her sincerity, and desire to provide the best experience to all of her customers. After that conversation, I was left with one question... What is her secret!? Her extremely positive attitude, outlook on life, and energy level is something to strive towards.

Try A&A for yourself, they are a true asset to the Prince George community.

I want to thank the fine staff at AA Burger Bar for the wonderful lunch my wife and I had there recently. We weren't sure where to go one day so we tried AA Burger Bar for the first time. Both of us thought the food was great and the service was as good as anywhere in PG. The people who work there obviously still know what the value of customer service should be. We waited 20min for food. Did not complain to anyone. The owner's wife appeared at our table saying 'she was made aware of our complaint'(there was none) and continued to go on and on of comparing fast food to cooking theirs thoroughly. She was loud and annoying- and all for no reason we gave.
