A visit to this restaurant is like a trip to the country---circa 1960s. The biggest enticement here may be the elegant, multi-level space that oozes with charm. The fieldstone fireplaces and heated patio alone are worth the trip, though the food is a draw on its own. The kitchen fully embraces contemporary Pacific Northwest sustainability by using local ingredients and growing its own produce on a nearby farm. Brunch fare ranges from the basics to a sophisticated quiche Lorraine prepared with house-made pancetta. Lunch is a variety of inventive sandwiches, salads, and main courses such as Dungeness crab risotto or meatloaf and mashers. Dinner offers ambitious yet successful entrées such as smoked paprika chicken with potato-Parmesan gratin or lamb osso buco with Sardinian fregula, local quince, fennel and feta cheese.
