Whether you're craving steak tartare or a topnotch burger, this neighborhood bistro offers the best of all things Parisian blended with Northwest style: first-rate fare, a wide array of wine, and an insouciant atmosphere. Chef Pascal Sauton has created a classy, comfortable café serving classic dishes such as bifsteak frites, crispy duck leg confit, and baked escargots. But there's nothing stuffy about this spot; burgers and croques are available as well. Desserts range from profiteroles to petits fours. If you like the wine, take a bottle home with you---Carafe doubles as a wine shop. Its location across from Keller Auditorium makes it a great choice for a pre-show dinner, although many downtown business folk consider it power lunch-central.
