Detour into France at Le Bouchon (meaning "the cork"), a friendly neighborhood bistro just like those found in every French town. It's a fairly small place with hardly any space between tables, but there's always a nice hum in the single room. You don't come here for finesse, but for what the French call "la cuisine de grand-mere," meaning honest, homey cooking. The selection of authentic dishes includes onion soup gratinée, snails in garlic butter, mussels, confit de canard and crème caramel---each one prepared simply and correctly.
