Jake's Grill Description:
This throwback to another era has a relaxed feel and a menu featuring stick-to-your ribs comfort food. Housed in the handsome old Governor Hotel, Jake's is filled with Craftsman-style furniture, murals of Northwest Indian life, and a few stuffed animal heads redolent of the once wild west. The fare is substantial, the bar scene is lively, and the drinks are enormous. In short, it's a nod to the days when dining out was not an occasion to taste the newest inventions of celebrity chefs, but a place for good, hearty cheer in an atmosphere something like an upscale saloon. The best options are the beef steaks---simply a grilled slab of tender meat. The portions are oversize, so go with a fierce appetite, and enjoy the service, which---typical of all McCormick & Schmick's establishments---is snappy and professional.
