There's nothing amazing about Fujin, but the preparations are always fresh, piping hot, and nicely spiced. Choose one of the numerous specials written on a board near the entrance. The whole fish dishes are strikingly good, and crab sprinkled with ginger and green onions is always a winner. Vegans will find many options, including a crispy fried eggplant dish. Not every Chinese restaurant does a good job with its soups, but you can count on Fujin's skill with broth---the hot-and-sour soup here is nearly legendary. The décor of this neighborhood eatery is strictly functional, but the dishes transcend the ambience.
