Mad Mex Description:
Continuing the big Burrito Restaurant Group's concept of zany-chic décor, youthful exuberance and wit everywhere, including the menu, this suburban outpost adds live band entertainment (every other Saturday) and convenience to mall shopping to the original Mad Mex mix. Late-night diners share in the chain's bargain pricing policy. The Cal-Mex menu features fajitas, dips, wings, wraps, enchiladas, burritos, quesadillas, entrée salads, sides and desserts. There's no claim to authenticity, but ingredients are fresh, frequently local and chef-directed. Special carnitas burritos and a wide range of grilled tacos reflect the kitchen's creative bent. To accommodate vegans, all burritos can be made with vegan soy cheese and tofu sour cream. A popular happy hour runs Monday through Friday. The no-reservation policy means either go early or go thirsty and progress, while you wait, through 24 microbrews on tap plus numerous bottles and craft beers. The fearless and foolish can tackle 22-ounce margaritas.
