Chicken Latino Description:
The décor is storefront with touches of tourist kitsch. It's BYOB, and, if you have an aversion to flimsy plastic, you may also want to bring in your own glasses and cutlery. But Peru-born owner Shelbin Santos and her assorted friends and relatives welcome diners warmly and serve Peruvian rotisserie chicken (a whole one, with two sides, for $17.50). Find fried yucca, potatoes and plantain, as well as black beans and coleslaw. All is made in house. The menu offers Mexican items---quesadillas, burritos---plus hamburgers, cheeseburgers and chicken sandwiches. On weekends, options expand with specials: ceviche, slow-roasted pork, kebabs, grilled steak. Eat in, take-out or order catering with delivery. Desserts, colas and juices are authentically cloying.
