Maria's Ristorante on Summit Description:
This southern Italian restaurant brings South Philly style to Roxborough, a working class neighborhood adjacent to gentrified Manayunk. In the cheerful dining rooms, Mama Maria dishes up polenta with sausage and mushrooms, as well as all manner of meat, fish and chicken dishes. The antipasto rustico features prosciutto, sopressata, cheeses and vegetables, and there's a mean cioppino brimming with seafood. But we like her eggplant Parmigiana the best, though some of her pastas---orecchiette with broccoli rabe, sausage and red peppers---are straight out of the old country.
