With its vantage point on the corner of a busy street of shops and boutiques, Audrey Claire becomes the site of major people-watching on warm days, when the large windows are thrown open. Mediterranean cuisine with hints of Northern Africa and the Middle East is served in the airy, bare bones room. Patrons consume, with obvious enthusiasm, large platters of assorted meze (the seared Brussels sprouts with shaved Parmesan is a standout) and dishes like feta and garlic crusted rack of lamb with fresh mint. Bring a bottle of wine, some cash, and be prepared to wait for a table on the weekend. Reservations are accepted Sunday through Thursday.
