Bar Ferdinand Description:
Restaurant designer Owen Kamihira, known for stylish projects including Buddakan in Philadelphia and Red Square in Atlantic City, is the force behind Bar Ferdinand, a sultry magnet for the young cocktail drinking set in Northern Liberties. Try traditional tapas dishes such as steamed cockles, fennel salad and saffron broth; savory crab and white asparagus flan; and charred watermelon and Serrano ham with tarragon. Any of the bocadillos will please, including the cerdo frito, a sandwich of fried pork and roasted peppers. The wine and beer scene is just as alluring, with a 50-bottle Spanish wine list including 25 by the glass. Ten beers are on tap, and the 35-beer menu includes Alhambra, a premium lager from Spain.
