Skopelos has been a Pensacola landmark---and a favorite spot for receptions and banquets---since 1959. The current location, a rambling white clapboard building, is a few blocks from the original restaurant, and it too has been on the local radar for decades, chiefly as a spot for dancing. Chef Gus Silivos is a third-generation owner of the restaurant. Mixed culinary metaphors like dolmades followed by seafood gumbo seem to make perfect sense at this waterfront eatery. Don't miss the delicate crab meat moussaka---a blend of eggplant slices, lump crab meat, tomatoes and a Parmesan-kissed cream sauce. There are plenty of baked, broiled and grilled steaks, chops and fish, plus Greek standbys like spanikopita and assorted preparations augmented with phyllo, feta and spinach. Save room for the baklava or Key lime pie.
