Plain and Fancy Farm Restaurant Description:
This restaurant began serving Pennsylvania Dutch family-style meals in 1960. The restaurant is part of an attraction called Plain and Fancy Farm that features a replica of an Amish farm called the Amish Country Homestead, the Amish Experience Theater, Aaron and Jessica's buggy rides, and year-round guided tours of the Amish Country and a bus tour to Philadelphia during the tourist season. Plain and Fancy was named for a 1955 Broadway play of the same name that was set in the village of Bird-in-Hand.
The restaurant features a la carte lunches and dinners as well as a family-style meal called the Amish Feast which features many local staples such as broasted chicken, sausage, baked dried corn, egg noodles, and shoo fly pie.
