Back Porch Description:
Located on the banks of the Monongahela River, Back Porch Restaurant offers charm, history and friendly service. The impressive two-story brick structure was the 1806-built home of ferry-owner Henry Speers. The property debuted as a restaurant on Valentine's Day, 1975. Diners enjoy glowing fireplaces in winter and cool river breezes on the patio in summer. The menu offers familiar comforts---fresh fish, duck Chambord, veal Oscar, chicken carbonara and signature baby-back ribs. For sweets, there's a daily dessert tray, hopefully including Chocolate Suicide Cake.
