Pinxo Description:
The restaurant Pinxo, owned by Michelin-starred chef Alain Dutournier, is located at the foot of the Hotel Plaza Paris Vendôme, very close to the Tuileries gardens. It is a contemporary restaurant specialised in French tapas, with influences from the South-west.
You can sit at tables, but you can also sit at the counter to watch and question the young and talented chefs.
An original concept conceived of and created by Alain Dutournier (Le Carré des Feuillants and Le Trou Gascon), Pinxo combines aspects of a traditional tapas bar with those of a contemporary French restaurant. Could this be the start of a new trend of dining? Inspired by his origins from the Sud-Ouest, Dutournier has created an authentic cuisine that focuses on the products and for which instantaneity of preparation and quick sampling are key words. The dishes are executed in an open kitchen, along which some diners can sit and watch the cooks while enjoying their meal. Dishes are simple and light, without complications or fancy sauces. Sometimes, the ingredients themselves or certain combinations might even surprise you: octopus salad, sprouts and roots, trio of Gillardeau's Papillons, foie gras tartine, hare noisette with broccoli semoule and celery sticks... But, you can choose among more conventional options, as well, like the hot boletus mushroom pâté, with the cut of beef and mashed potatoes infused with spring onions. And, of course, the décor, in three tones---white, black and red---, is modern like the cuisine.
