Les Cocottes Description:
Traditional French fare - such as crispy cod with potato stew, roast pigeon with peas, and egg flan - is served in cocottes en fonte (cast iron bowls) at a reasonable price.
And four for Christian Constant. In the same portion of the rue Saint-Dominique, the old stately Crillon aligns itself as a gastronomic restaurant, Le Violon d'Ingres, a seafaring establishment, Les Fables de la Fontaine, a gentleman's bistro, Le Café Constant, and, from now on, this large bar where casserole cuisine is king. In a chic, designer interior, you sample while sitting tall at a barstool, the genuine bistro dishes, from sandwich to caesar salad to pigeon with peas and cherry clafoutis, served in casseroles of all sorts from glass to ceramic. A French "diner" spirit welcomes neighborhood yuppie clients.
