58 Tour Eiffel Description:
Alain Ducasse opened this restaurant on the first level of the Eiffel Tower in April of 2009. Guests have priority access directly to the restaurant, so no waiting in line. The large windows offer great vistas of the Seine river and the Trocadéro, as well as panoramic overlooks of the capital and the city lights at night. Gustave Eiffel's futuristic construction harmoniously blends with the chic look of this intimate brasserie achieved by designer Patrick Jouin. For lunch, there are "pique-nique baskets" offered that you can carry to the table. The cuisine is light, mostly performing the classical range with some playful tones. Dinner dishes include smoked salmon, blinis and sweet mustard cream; royal green asparagus tips au naturel and smoked duck breast. The duck parmentier, melting and generous, is a masterpiece. The macaroni, asparagus and morels were so crispy, juicy and exquisitely tasty that we could not help ordering a second portion. The cheesecake is one of the best in town.
