Omri Go Med Description:
The Med in the name doesn't mean the Mediterranean that laps the shores of Southern France, Italy or Spain, though there are some risottos and paellas on the menu from time to time. Chef Omri Siklai comes from Israel and he's referencing the Mediterranean further east: northern Africa, Syria, Turkey, Greece. His flavors are bold, his soups and salads a mainstay of his menu: the Turkish salad with eggplant, zucchini, tomato and olives is a favorite. Siklai doesn't believe in small portions and doesn't have anything to do with elegant minimalism; this is the sort of place where doggy bags are the norm. Try his osso buco on risotto, the mint porcini-dusted Colorado lamb chops or the glazed roasted duckling. Lunch here is very affordable, with homemade sausage, moussaka, a greens and feta cheese pie, shishlik with couscous, lamb flank and stuffed red bell pepper in tomato broth.
