High Jackers Description:
It's always fun to eat at small airports while watching airplanes come and go. This one, a naval air base during World War II, is an especially popular hangout for flyers, parachute jumpers and aviation buffs old, new and future. The menu begins with Taxi Out selections (appetizers and snacks), then Crop Dusters, the salads. Seafood is served steamed, fried, grilled or blackened with a side of fries or black beans and rice. There's also a breast of chicken kebab or an eight-ounce filet mignon kebab, plus sandwiches and sides for the lighter appetite. The wine list is brief but it includes splits of an organically-grown California sparkling wine.
