The whiff of a wood-fire grill invites you into a warm dining ambience. Your only dilemma is whether to choose a juicy steak, fresh catch of the day, chops or tender ribs. All soups and sauces are made from scratch daily. One signature entrée, center-cut coriander pork chops, is served with red-skinned mashed potatoes and amaretto cinnamon apples. The Texas sirloin topped with peppercorn sauce, burgundy mushrooms and onion crisps ranks as the house special. You can't go wrong, however, with any of the USDA choice center-cut steaks. For something different, try the wood-fired salmon basted with herb butter, or the wood-fired chicken breast accompanied with Cajun rice and sugar snap peas. During lunchtime, opt for a rib basket or Caesar salad with mesquite grilled large Gulf shrimp. Although the authentic Key lime pie is hard to beat, the chocolate volcano cake is a standout.
