The Thai House is cheap and dependable, and when you're hungry for a bowl of spicy tom yam kai (chicken soup with chilies, lemon grass and lemon juice) or a crispy heap of mee krob (rice noodles flavored with tamarind-tomato sauce), this is the place. The wait can be long on weekends, but service is efficient---just order by pointing. The deep-fried whole red snapper served with curry is attractively presented. A popular seafood combo is squid, crab and shrimp baked with bean threads and vegetables in a spicy-sweet chile sauce. Or stick with simple stir-fries like green beans with beef, chicken or pork, or barbecued duck with fresh vegetables. Add a side of basil fried rice for good measure---and count on plenty of leftovers.
