Hard Rock Café is the granddaddy of all themed restaurants, on the waterfront at Universal CityWalk. The restaurant is the largest in the Hard Rock chain and is combined with a concert venue called Hard Rock LIVE. This isn't the place to go for dinner conversation---it is a tribute to rock music, after all. Try the hickory-smoked pulled pork sandwich, a tangy barbecue number paired with a pile of fries. Other standouts include the spicy twisted mac 'n' cheese with chicken, or the red, white, and blue burger made with buffalo sauce and Cajun seasoning and piled with blue cheese crumbles. When visiting the Universal complex, be prepared for a long walk. There is a network of moving sidewalks that will bring you half-way to the restaurant. As for the other half? Bring your hiking boots, because you're on your own.
