Emeril's Restaurant Orlando Description:
Emeril Lagasse may be a somewhat flamboyant chef with an impressive résumé, but we're not entirely sold on his Orlando outpost. If you're in the mood for high-calorie, New Orleans-style cooking, get in line for a table. If, however, you are not into giant plates heaped with over-sauced fish and meats, skip this experience. The CityWalk location has been designed to reflect the New Orleans warehouse district where Lagasse's first restaurant is located, but that, too, seems out of place in the midst of CityWalk's flashy neon and underdressed tourists. We like the gumbo paired with Emeril's salad. Entrées, certainly big enough to share, are a flamboyant mix of flavors, such as the ancho-seared salmon with yucca chips, black bean coulis and avocado emulsion; or a double-cut pork chop with caramelized sweet potatoes, tamarind glaze and green chile mole. Try to simplify and go for the grilled rib-eye with mashed potatoes, Emeril's homemade Worcestershire sauce and saffron-poached cippolini onions. We recommend one dessert, the banana cream pie.
