Cattlemen's Description:
Cattlemen's rich and colorful history dates back to 1910 when it was one of the few establishments open past sundown; during prohibition it was known for home-brewed liquid delights, and once ownership changed hands at a gambling table with a lucky roll of the dice. Today Cattlemen's plays host to hungry cowboys and ranchers, plus tourists and famous names like President G.W. Bush. The restaurant has employed many on its staff for decades, and this longevity of service has produced a predictable quality that has remained much the same for a century. Patrons are encouraged to start their meal with lamb fries. The Southern comfort food menu is all prepared from scratch including warm buttered rolls, creamy mashed potatoes, beer-battered onion rings and coconut cream pie. Of course, Cattlemen's is known for its steaks, hand cut in its own butcher shop then seared over a hot charcoal flame to your specification. It all adds up to a uniquely Oklahoma dining experience.
