Outback Steakhouse Description:
Outback's signature item---a "bloomin' onion"---is the size of a softball, and carved to resemble a brown gardenia. It is battered and deep-fried until it's crispy outside and super soggy inside. Truth be told, we kind of get why the masses come-a-runnin' to this oh-so-familiar, family-friendly steakhouse chain, if only because you know exactly what you're going to get. Entrées include steaks, of course, and prime rib is the best way to go. Non-beef dishes include chicken, pork and fish grilled up on---what else---the barbie. You'll find a line at mealtimes, so if you're in a hurry, order ahead, and carry out. There are some solid Australian beers at the bar and a decent selection of wines.
