Along with wonderful spicy aromas, the well-appointed dining room at this Westside version of an Eastside classic is filled with plants, artwork and soothing shades of teal and plum. The menu emphasizes the richer, less fiery dishes. Try the garlic naan with the cucumber raita to start. Among entrées, we like the chicken tikka (boneless breast pieces marinated in yogurt and spices, served sizzling with onions and bell peppers) and the rogan josh (tender boneless lamb in a warming curry sauce with fresh garlic, ginger, onions and spices). Looking for vegetarian options? You'll find plenty. Among the best are the tandoori vegetable grill, palak aloo (potatoes cooked with spices and fresh spinach) and the navaratana curry (mixed fresh vegetables, paneer and cashews in tomato curry). Finish off your meal with the creamy and sweet kheer (sweet basmati rice pudding with raisins and almonds).
