Bass Lake Inn Description:
The food is hearty yet sophisticated at this east side outpost with exposed woodwork, a large fireplace, quaint antiques and high-walled booths. The panko-crusted goat cheese and port-poached pear salad set the tone for what is to come: tasty, down-to-earth American fare. The pan-seared elk strip-loin medallion or the succulent sea scallops and lobster cream mac 'n' cheese are both rich and flavorful. The horseradish-crusted salmon and the ubiquitous (at least in Ohio's Lake Erie country) batter-fried perch are among the standout selections from the sea. Pork chops, strip steak and maple-roasted butternut squash are other winners. For dessert, consider the bread pudding, fruit crisps or cheesecake.
