Pier W Description:
With its up-close-and-personal views of Lake Erie and the Cleveland skyline, this landmark restaurant is a stunner. The décor is clean and modern, and the restaurant is dimly lit so that the scenery itself becomes the star. With a name like Pier W, it's no wonder that the food mostly hails from the sea. Maine lobster sliders are a favorite appetizer, owing to the contrast between the sweet, soft meat and the crunchy, tangy slaw. Among entrées, diners can choose between The Water and The Land sections of the menu. We recommend the bouillabaisse, with its fresh fish, top neck clams, shrimp and mussels in a deep saffron tomato broth. The crab-stuffed Gulf white shrimp are also quite good, and if you're feeling hungry, can be added to any entrée. For desserts, we suggest the Ohio maple crème brûlée. Between its regular and reserve wine lists, Pier W's cellar stocks roughly 3,000 bottles.
