National Trail Schoolhouse Inn Description:
Formerly known as the Brownsville School, this handsome building has been graciously transformed to a spacious and delightful country home, retaining the spirit from school days of a century ago when the water was drawn from the spring and bathroom facilities were located outdoors. Built in 1900, the schoolhouse served grades 1 12 until 1934 and housed grades 1 8 until its closure in 1948. The property sat vacant for 53 years until its recent rennovation. A pleasant mixture of primitive and country furnishings is shared with guests throughout the 5000+ sq ft home. Probably its best feature its huge country kitchen with fresh baked pies on most of the time.
