Waverly's Steak House Description:
A gracious maître d' and a handsome lounge with a dark wood-framed wine cellar and six-seat bar greet guests in this upscale steakhouse. Behind the bar, a second wine cellar serves as a divider for the spacious dining room decorated with colorful still-life murals of fruits and vegetables. Comfortable booths ring the room, and white linens enhance the understated elegance. From the gleaming open kitchen with its beautiful arched ceiling, we like the sweet lump crab cake with Creole mustard aïoli, roasted corn relish and jalapeño oil and the she-crab soup with sherry. Waverly's chopped salad is created with romaine, bacon, avocado and blue cheese crumbles, tossed in a creamy white dressing. Chicken breast is roasted with red potatoes, pearl onions, carrots and celery with the chicken's jus. Your choice of Alaskan halibut, Chilean sea bass or salmon can be prepared blackened, broiled or poached with lemon butter or à la meunière. Broiled filet mignon is served with béarnaise or red wine sauce. Indulge with the dessert sampler for two---crème brûlée, strawberry shortcake and chocolate waffles s'more. The versatile wine list, with 15 wines by the glass, and the cordials-spirits list complement the cuisine.
