La Panetiere Description:
The natural elegance of La Panetière, enhanced by its rustic sign nestled among a garden of wildflower bouquets, reflects the restaurant's Provencal style cuisine. For an authentic "taste of Provence," start with the lasagna of forest mushrooms, tomato fondue, spinach and smoked tomato coulis. However, if you're in the mood for foie gras, we recommend requesting an extra slice of the terrine in place of the poorly executed "warm crème brûlée" that constitutes the other half of the foie gras duo. The entrées are uneven in quality. An ordinary tasting salmon comes with flavorful stewed onions while a generous portion of filet mignon with a wine sauce is served with gooey, nearly tasteless potatoes. Fortunately, the desserts and good coffee allow one to end a meal here on a high note. Don't miss the black currant dome if it's on the dessert menu. Expect a notable wine list with wines available by the glass.
