Il Fornetto Restaurant was opened in July 1999 and since then has remained the only water front dining in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn. The name comes from the Italian word “forno�? which means oven. The restaurant is well-known for its special dishes made in the wood-fired brick oven.
The restaurant features authentic Italian cuisine. Il Fornetto varies their specials daily. Some favorites include Pesce Arrosto whole Mediterranean sea bass or sea bream, Osso bucco braised veal shank in natural juices, and cucumber Gazpacho.
