Flames Steak House Description:
This classy restaurant breathes romance into the steakhouse formula. Loyal customers keep this out-of-the-way Briarcliff Manor hybrid packed to the rafters on weekends. Oversize steaks are the main draw although the restaurant boasts a respectable selection of Northern Italian specialties as well, including handmade pastas. The classic porterhouse for two is first-rate, served tender, medium rare (or however you like it), pre-sliced and drenched in its own juices. The twin lobster tails are a feast for the eyes as well as the palate, being both impressive in size and in rich buttery taste. Diners inclined to explore the Italian half of the menu will not be disappointed by such solid dishes as eggplant rollatini stuffed with mozzarella and prosciutto. The extensive wine list is as formidable as the cuisine. Prices, thankfully, are still comparably suburban.
