Eurotrip Description:
Tucked away down Fifth Avenue in the yet-to-gentrify part of Park Slope is Eurotrip. But don't confuse this sleek eatery with the bad 2004 movie of the same name. The "trip" is a culinary voyage around Central Europe, moving from rich and slightly spicy Hungarian goulash to ultra creamy halusky (the Slovakian version of gnocchi with sheep's cheese) to savory stuffed pirogi to a cheese-and-bread plate called "Bohemian Pub Fix." The beer selection includes a few not-so-easy-to-find Czech brews on tap, including the creamy Staropramen and the dark Krusovice, which leaves hints of caramel on the palate. The cocktail list includes concoctions you can only find in Central Europe, such as the Beton (Becherovka and tonic). The décor falls on the chic side, although the darkly hued back room can feel slightly oppressive at times.
