Di Fara Pizza Description:
If you're a pizza connoisseur, you're in the right place. Dominico DeMarco's priority is making amazing pizza---one-by-one, by hand, v-e-r-y slowly. The dough is made with imported Italian flour, he uses not one but three cheeses (buffalo mozzarella, Parmigiano-Reggiano, Grana Padana), and freshly-made sauce created from plum tomatoes and herbs. The heroes on the menu are noteworthy as well. Locals and pilgrims alike keep Di Fara busy day and night.

I just got back to my hotel after a failed attempt to try this pizza. I found it interesting to read another's review about burnt pizza since that is part of why I didn't eat there. Anyway, I went out of my way to go all the way into Brooklyn from the Bronx when I needed to be going to White Plains. After arriving, I waited for 15 minutes and was not acknowledged by the two workers. There are two things I cannot tolerate about restaurants and stores and that is a long wait to take an order and a long wait to pay. While I waited, I saw two burnt pizzas served to customers. One was so bad I couldn't believe they were actually serving it. The restaurant was small and the pizza was not cooked in a brick oven which I thought was a key feature of NY pizza. I left and settled for a deli sandwich next door.

I'm a 45 year old first generation Italian male (I can speak Italian) and I love pizza. DiFara has seen the last of me! It's a disgrace when good Italian pizza goes bad. For the price of a regular pie - at the very least they should make it consistently round, fill the box and not burn the edges. Instead the box is bigger than the pie. I decided to give it another chance, so today I ordered a square. I was very disappointed. For $30 I received a square pizza with burnt edges on the whole pie. The only reason I still took the square pie was to get my wife's opinion. Needless to say she was not impressed.
