Rosie O'Grady's Description:
It's hard to stand out from the crowd with a name like Rosie O'Grady's, a moniker that's easy to confuse with the scores of other wood-and-leather bedecked, Celtic-tinged restaurants throughout the city. Fortunately, Rosie's has some redeeming qualities, starting with the two big bars. Both serve a respectable selection of wines by the glass and beers typical of such an establishment. The food isn't exceptional here. There are few highlights on the menu beyond steaks and chops, though the 24-ounce T-bone is a surprisingly good value at $32 and the lamb shank, glazed with port wine, is as hearty and filling as anything you could hope to eat on a cold night. Lighter fare is where the kitchen trips up. The seafood platter, while huge, doesn't have much in the way of flavor beyond butter, and penne pasta with rock shrimp, tomatoes and mushrooms may be tepid and bland.
