This very old-world French eatery is renowned for its sensational flower arrangements, golden light and superb service. The dining room evokes the romance of Paris in a bygone age. The menu of classics is executed by Matthew Tropeano. You don't need to brush up on your high school French before you go to negotiate the carte; the savvy waiters will gladly help you. We recommend the restaurant's namesake, sautéed frogs' legs infused with brown butter and garlic. Other appetizers might include potato blini and salmon tartare with American caviar or wild mushrooms risotto. Try pike quenelles Lyonnaise as an entrée or excellent oxtail braised in red burgundy wine. Lovers of classic desserts will delight in the airy soufflé but since they require preparation time, you need to order them in advance. The wine list is impressive, and the prix-fixe menus are $38 (two courses) and $52 (three courses) for lunch and $78 (two courses) and $95 (three courses) for dinner. À la carte options are also available at lunch. A $29 three-course "Ardoise" lunch menu is offered upstairs in the private room. A theatre menu, served from 5 p.m.-6 p.m. and after 9:30 p.m., is $59.
