The neighborhood near the Port Authority Bus Terminal isn't the best, and at first glance through the dusty window, you might pass up this hodge-podge place. If you do, you'll miss a lot. Donuts, coffeecake and waffles are all noteworthy. But what New Yorkers really go for are the cupcakes. Dense namesakes with flavors like vanilla, chocolate, "Bohemian" (walnut with maple icing) and mocha. Dainty handmade flowers atop even the mini-cupcakes blossom with bright colors. In fact, the not-overly-sweet buttercream is a high point. Cakes are also available and rival those at New York's best bakeries.
