Fiorello's Roman Cafe Description:
Proclaiming to be the "longest running show on Broadway," this vivacious Italian eatery---just a jeté from Lincoln Center---has become a decades-old staple for theater-goers. The menu doesn't deviate from the doctrine of "cucina di mama," but that's okay, especially when it's done right, as it is here. The linguine pescatore---pasta crammed with baby clams and mussels in a marinara sauce---is a favorite among regulars. The pappardelle with rabbit bolognese sauce manages to offer a rich taste of Tuscany but not so much that there isn't room for more. The "secondi" not surprisingly consist of dishes like veal chop Parmigiana and osso buco. But stick to Fiorello's fish menu: the skate Milanese with arugula, fennel and plum tomato salad, and the balsamic glazed yellowfin tuna with lentil salad are worthy of an encore.
