Ajisen Noodle Description:
This attractive and wood-bedecked Japanese restaurant may seem out of place lodged smack in the center of Chinatown's culinary mecca, but it has no problem drawing in hungry locals and tourists for big bowls of ramen and assorted Japanese appetizers. The house ramen, laced with tender pork and a soft, fist-size chunk of brisket, is the biggest hit among the 15 or so ramen choices (which include seafood, eel, corn and salmon). Other snacks on the menu include grilled eel and octopus and the usual array of teriyaki and tempura. There's a small but affordable beer and wine selection.
